How to Enter the Monthly Competition
A simple guide to entering digital images, registering prints, and understanding the competition rules.
Digital Entries
Digital entries are uploaded through the club website and are viewed and judged online or projected on competition night.
Please prepare your digital images as follows:
- File type: JPEG.
- Colour profile: sRGB.
- Maximum size: 1920px wide by 1080px high.
- The image title should be entered when submitting the image.
- Submit your entries before the competition closing date shown on the competition page.
Once submitted, your digital entries will appear in the competition system for voting, judging, and results processing according to the competition settings.
Print References
Print references are registered through the club website so the club can record, track, and prepare print voting or awards.
Register your print reference, then bring the physical print on the night for QR or paper voting.
Please prepare your prints as follows:
- Prints must be securely mounted inside a mat, with a backing.
- The mount must not exceed 50cm by 40cm and 5mm thickness.
- Framed photographs are not allowed.
- A print label should be attached to the back of the mount in the top left-hand corner to assist with orientation.
- Bring your mounted prints to the print table before judging or voting begins.
Competition Rules
Members are expected to follow the competition rules in good faith. These rules may differ from other photography clubs or WAPF rules.
- Only financial club members may enter.
- Entry limits are shown on each competition page.
- The same image may only be entered in one category. A monochrome version of a colour image is considered the same image.
- There is no time restriction on when the image, or its elements, were taken unless stated in the competition rules.
- All elements in the image must be photographic in origin and must be the work of the photographer.
- The image’s post-production treatment must be the work of the photographer. Printing may be completed by a commercial printer.
- If there are fewer than three entries in a category, that category may not be judged.
- Images awarded Bronze or higher cannot be entered again in a monthly competition.
- An image entered in the Set Subject category but disqualified for not meeting the subject may be entered in another monthly competition.
Set Subject Competitions
If a competition includes a Set Subject category, the subject title and description will be shown on the competition page.
Members should read the Set Subject description carefully before entering. Images that do not meet the Set Subject may be disqualified from that category.
