COMPETITIONS
Friendly competitions that help members improve
Club competitions are a valuable part of Mundaring Camera Club.
They give members the opportunity to receive feedback, view other members’ work, develop their photographic eye and grow in confidence.
It can feel daunting at first to have your images reviewed, but competitions are run in a friendly and supportive environment. The aim is to help members learn what works well, understand common pitfalls, and continue developing their own style.
Competitions also encourage members to try new subjects, select their strongest images and build confidence to enter local, regional or wider photographic competitions.
Monthly competition format:
Monthly competitions run from February to November and are judged by an independent judge.
Members may enter multiple categories, subject to the current competition rules.
Awards and feedback:
The club follows the West Australian Photographic Judges Association scoring system.
Awards may include:
- 📷Gold Distinction
- 📷Gold
- 📷Silver
- 📷Bronze
- 📷Merit
Judges are encouraged to provide helpful comments on each image during the meeting. This feedback is one of the most valuable parts of the competition process.
A Gold or Silver award can also indicate that an image may be suitable for entry into higher-level competitions.
Member choice
Members also have the opportunity to vote for their preferred images on competition night. This gives everyone the chance to take part, view the images closely and develop their own photographic judgement.
Who can enter?
Only financial members of the club can enter monthly competitions.
Detailed competition rules, digital submission requirements, print entry requirements and current set subjects are available to members through the member area.
The club offers both digital projected and print categories:

Open Category

Mono Category
